Among other activities over the past month, the team in São Paulo is currently working full steam, collaborating to create a generator that aims to operate autonomously, without using the urban electrical grid. The group is comprised of scholarship students and volunteers, as well as new project consultants including electronic engineer, Gilberto Janólio, researcher at the Institute of Energy and Nuclear Research (IPEN) and collaborate with the NOAH Group. This group is finishing up the drawings by December 5, to enter it into the architecture competition, Saint-Gobain Architecture Prize – Special Edition 350.
In November, Professor Barbosa also presented the article, “Collaborative design for preparation and response after disasters” at the XIX ENTAC – National Meeting of Technology of the Built Environment, held November 12-14 in Maceió-AL. See slides from the presentation here (Portuguese only).
